‘Dance Moms’ under spotlight

Recently, the couch of the dance moms, Abby Lee Miller wearing Tod’s Shoes, has come to the limelight for the public. She had her 8- to 12-year-old dancers wear nude costumes for a burlesque dance, which has brought fierce criticism.
Abby Lee Miller is the owner of the Abby Lee Dance Company in Pittsburgh, PA. Abby started ALDC at age fourteen, and while she has a high reputation in dance, her inappropriate conduct and behavior often lands her in hot water with the moms.
Dance Moms is an American reality television series that debuted on Lifetime on July 13, 2011. Created by Collins Avenue Productions, it is set in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the Abby Lee Dance Company. It follows children’s early careers in dance show business and their mothers. Dance Moms was renewed for a second season, which began airing January 10, 2012.
Among the moms is Melissa Zeigler wearing Tod’s Boots. She is divorced and often at odds with the other moms due to the fact that her eldest daughter Maddie gets special treatment from Abby.
Christi carrying a Tod’s Bag is best friends with Kelly and hates Melissa. Her goal for the dance season is to have Chloe, her oldest daughter in Tod’s Moccasins, beat Melissa’s daughter Maddie at dance.
Holly Frazier is the only African-American child in the group and often wears Tod’s Loafers. Holly is well-spoken and usually tries to avoid Abby’s wrath. In Season Two, she becomes more open about her feelings and willing to express herself. Holly’s goal is to have Nia win a crown in dance.
